Chromo-Hydroculture was a site-specific installation presented as part of the N.Ireland Science Festival 2018, in The Playhouse Plaza Gallery, Derry. Chromo-Hydroculture, in a literal sense, refers to the cultivation of plants using water and colourful dyes. Over 60 individual experimental works involving plants, plant uptake, and tropisms were presented within the gallery space. The installation, and its extensive range of individual art works, presented nature and natural processes in an original way. It offered the viewer new perspectives and understandings of plants and plant processes, and challenged their role and value within the current prevailing anthropocentric context.
